Aoraki Secondary Schools’ Swimming Championships

 Swimming

Friday 26th May, in Ashburton, was the Aoraki Secondary Schools’ Swimming Championships,

Swimmers were allowed to enter four events and so must choose their races carefully.  Frankie McDiarmid-Jones placed first in each of her four races.  Not to let little sister take all the glory, Olli McDiarmid-Jones got four first places as well. We think, at the time of going to print, that the McDiarmids have taken overall top male over 15 years and best female under 15 years for all of Aoraki.

A fantastic effort.

Hannah Burke got two firsts and two seconds. Neight Fraser got a first and a third.

Elias Fraser gained three second places and a third. While Connor Southee snuck in a third.

It was a great day out, thanks to Mrs Sarah Burke for travelling up to Ashburton with us to act as official timer, to Olli for leading the team well, and to all parents for supporting their children through this most demanding of sports.
