
What have you been up to since leaving SKC?
I attended Lincoln University and gained a BCom(Ag). After that, I moved to Dunedin and joined ANZ as a Rural Assistant Manager. I have worked here for just about 7 years now and look after the South Otago region as a Rural Bank Manager.
What is your most fond memory of your time at St Kevin's?
The hostel. Getting dropped off for the first time may have been tough but as soon as I became friends with everyone, I didn’t want to go home. These friendships can last a lifetime and now I have couches to stay on all across the country!
What made you choose your profession?
Being good with numbers, my career advisor at SKC told me I was going to be an accountant, but I wasn’t that excited about sitting in an office all day. So I compromised and decided on a career that gets me out on the road visiting farmers as well.
How has the profession changed over the years?
Regulation and compliance have become a large part of the financial world, however, the fundamentals remain the same; look after and build good relationships with your clients - not only will it make your job easier, but it make it more rewarding.

I’m the proud owner of 2 Holden Kingswoods, of which one features in a notable photo outside the Redcastle.
What do you think are some of the challenges for young people today and how is it different from your time at school?
On the contrary, I believe young people have many more opportunities today, the hard part might be choosing which path to take.
